The Fu-Mech flanged eccentric reducer (model FU-ECC) is fabricated to order to complete tank, pump-room and civil pipework packages. This guide covers where it is used, the critical point in selecting and installing it, and how to order.
At a glance
- One flat side, offset ends.
- On a horizontal suction: flat side up.
- Flanges drilled to ANSI B16.5 or PN16 to order.
- Made to the two sizes required.
What is it?
A flanged reducer with one flat side, so the two ends are offset. On a horizontal pump suction it is normally fitted flat side up, so no air pocket forms at the top of the pipe ahead of the pump.
Where it is used
- Horizontal pump suction lines.
- Fire and water pump rooms.
- Horizontal runs where air must not collect.
Fitting orientation
Fitting an eccentric reducer upside down (flat side down) on a horizontal suction leaves a pocket at the top where air collects, then passes into the pump and causes cavitation and poor performance.
Caution
Check sizes, flange standard and lengths against the approved piping drawing before fabrication; made-to-order items are built to the data you send.

How to order
Use the “Build your order” section on this page: add every model, size and quantity, then send the whole order by email or WhatsApp. It reaches us as a tidy PDF request sheet and we contact you with the quotation.
- Model code FU-ECC
- Large × small size (DN)
- Flange standard: ANSI B16.5 or PN16
- Quantity, and the drawing if the item is non-standard
Frequently asked questions
Why is the flat side up on a suction line?
So the top of the pipe stays level up to the pump inlet and no air collects. This is established pump-suction piping practice; the approved designer’s details govern.
Which flange standards are available?
Flanges are drilled to ASME B16.5 Class 150 or EN 1092-1 PN16, to match the valves and equipment on your project.
Do you make non-standard items?
Yes. We fabricate non-standard sizes, lengths and end connections to the project drawing. Send the drawing and we send a quotation.
What should I send for a quotation?
Model code FU-ECC, Large × small size (DN), Flange standard: ANSI B16.5 or PN16, Quantity, and the drawing if the item is non-standard.
